By reshaping traditional woodturning tools and engineering a custom mounting system, Rayah extracts fine, hair-like fibres millimetre by millimetre from solid wood. Each strand is turned, combed to release knots, and dipped in black ink. The liquid is absorbed by the wood and drawn through the exposed fibres, its movement shaped by the type of hairs, the wood’s capillarity, and gravity.

A Turn Toward Possibility evokes both the rhythm of trial and discovery, Rayah's devotion to unraveling a hidden strength in the unworthy and the quiet pulse of a material given another chance. Together, the fragments form a hollow monolithic sculpture whose woven surface transforms solid wood into something deeply tactile.
